Hi folks,
We want to wish everyone the best as the year draws to a close, and a happy 2024! Looking back on the year, be proud of everything you've achieved, however small you might think it is. We are grateful to have you with us through it all.
We hope you all will have some time to recharge and relax, and thought we’d share some things that we’re reading/watching/listening to over the holiday season.
The Stone Sky by N.K. Jemisin
A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers
Die Hard - it’s 100% a holiday movie, I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise.
Happiest Season - It’s the one cheesy holiday movie that I watch every year.
The host - a poet - begins each episode with a reading of a poem and then talks about some of the meanings and references within it. He also goes into the writing methods/tools/styles being used to create effects within the poem that can affect the reading of it (e.g.: line breaks in specific areas, emphasis on certain words). The host then does a second reading of the poem afterwards which makes me appreciate the poem even more.
Someone recommended her to me and her music is incredible (start with ‘Say You Love Me’ off of her album "Tough Love")
Advent of Code 2023 - I don't think I'll have time to do the puzzles but it's been fun to hear what others are saying about it
Colour Pooling: A mind boggling way to make variegated yarn form a predictable pattern in crochet
I bought a little set of oil pastels and I'm excited to try this again! It was my childhood art teacher's material of choice and so I have not gravitated towards it in my adult years.
Listening
What Roman Mars Can Learn About Con Law
Watching
Julia - Unexpectedly relatable tale of finding the confidence in yourself and your dreams
We’d love to hear what you’re reading/watching/listening to these days so feel free to drop us a line telling us what you’ve really enjoyed lately.
Until next time!
Erica and Christina
